The First Pitch For Kids 2020 competition is Australia’s first national entrepreneurship pitch competition for school-aged children between 8–13.

The competition has been designed to inspire and educate children about entrepreneurship, providing them with both the guidance and opportunity to let their business ideas run free.

“Australia’s entrepreneurship culture has grown significantly with resources and education available to support business ideas for adults. Accordingly, it is important for us to support competitions like First Pitch For Kids that encourage this passion and entrepreneurial spirit for our youth”, said Bill Munro, Chief Product Officer at Munro Footwear Group. “Planting the seeds and nurturing this next generation of entrepreneurs supports both their future and ours.”

“In the midst of a global pandemic and challenging economic times we need to show kids that they can still cultivate the future they dream of. The competition not only offers the chance to win $1,000, but more importantly the opportunity to learn new and valuable skills, skills that are going to be invaluable as we rebuild our economy and reimagine our society in a post-COVID world.”

Entries for the competition close on the 2nd of October 2020 at 11:59 pm AEST. More information about the competition can be found at www.firstpitch.com.au
