Australian team announcement for the European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad

The Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT) will announce the first ever team of Australian school-aged girls to participate at the 2018 European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) imminently.

The Trust's Chief Executive Officer, Nathan Ford, will make the announcement at an event on Friday 6 April at the Optiver Asia Pacific, Head Office, 39 Hunter Street, Sydney, which begins at 5.30pm.

EGMO is an international mathematics competition for female school-aged students. EGMO has steadily grown into a major international event since its inception, from 19 participating countries in 2012 to 44 participating countries in 2017. The 2018 EGMO will be held in Florence, Italy, on 9–15 April 2018.

The AMT’s 2018 EGMO initiative received grant funding from the Australian Government through the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science under the Inspiring Australia – Science Engagement Programme and is also supported by its corporate sponsor, Optiver.
