400 primary school students from 13 schools and 35 presenters from the science and tech industry will descend on Malvern Valley Primary School on Thursday 18th October, for the Big Day In Jr. Science and IT expo.
The event is designed to give Year 5 and 6 students an insight into how Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) interact in the real world.
Malvern Valley School Principal Joshua Sheffield said: "This is an extremely exciting opportunity for the School."
“The students will get to engage with next generation technology and learn from industry experts. "The students can then see where the skills of Mathematics, IT and Science may lead them in the future. STEM is a curriculum focus for our school and we welcome the opportunity to share the day with students from neighouring schools.”
Workshops will be run by representatives from the Australian Computer Society Foundation, Solar Buddy, WiseTech Global, Apple, F1 in Schools, Microsoft, Stem Tech, RMIT, Adobe, Mindz Brainplay, La Trobe University and Code Club.
