Countdown begins for the ATO’s Tax, Super + You competition

Australian high school students have until the 23rd August to enter the Australian Taxation Office’s Tax, Super + You competition for a chance to win from a cash prize pool of over $6000.

Now in its third year, the competition encourages high school students to think outside the box and develop creative entries that highlight the value of tax and super in the community. Well-regarded Australian television presenter and personal finance expert, David Koch is part of the judging panel this year.

Koch said: “I’m looking forward to seeing what creative ways the kids of Australia show us what they have learnt about tax and super. Building financial literacy in kids is so important and this competition supports that in a fun and engaging way.”

Year 10 student Sarah Milton from Charters Towers, who won 2nd prize for the Junior category last year, said: “It’s important to have an entertaining entry as the mission of the competition is to get young people not only educated, but involved and excited about all things tax and superannuation. The best way to teach young people about a traditionally dry subject is to modernise it into a form of communication they understand best.”
