Used by nearly two-thirds of NSW students, CSSA has been the state's provider of Trial HSC examinations for decades, delivering over 200,000 Trial HSC Examinations across 47 HSC courses and nearly 600 schools each year.
As NESA shifts HSC exams online, schools and teachers across New South Wales will now have a new digital option for quality online test materials; past papers of the CSSA Trial Exams will be available under a partnership between CSSA and Gradeo.
“The CSSA-Gradeo partnership will bring CSSA into the digital era and demonstrates our commitment to quality, accessibility and innovation”, said CSSA Head of Assessment Monica O’Brien.
Gradeo specialises in online assessment and combines technology with tried-and-true test instruments. The partnership will give subscribers access to nearly 300 tests and 15,000 questions, mapped to current NSW syllabuses, enabling them to author, test, grade and report on a single platform.
The new platform will be available to Gradeo users from February and can save teachers time by creating a term’s worth of syllabus-aligned quizzes and exams for classes within minutes across over 45 subjects.
It can mark exam responses for an entire class within minutes and generate detailed improvement insights and it gives students access to a database of past papers or generate their own tests. They can also choose their own study adventure with quizzes and powerful reporting insights.
“Good assessment is the bedrock of valid measurement of student progress, but it can be time-consuming to develop or source for teachers” said CSNSW CEO Dallas McInerney.
“Almost every current and former HSC student in NSW has sat a CSSA exam at some point. The brand is trusted for its quality. We’re thrilled they’ve chosen Gradeo to propel this offering into hundreds of schools across NSW,” said Gradeo Founder Alex Dore.
