A total of $141.7 million will be invested in school upgrades and infrastructure projects across the Territory.
The Minister for Education Eva Lawler today said a key part of this infrastructure investment is the new Building Better Schools grants of $300,000 for every Territory school.
The Building Better Schools grants will fund every government and non-government school over the next four years from a $56.4 million investment, to create quality learning environments.
Schools can choose how to use the money to best meet the needs of their students, which could include classroom upgrades, repair projects or new buildings.
Fifty four schools will receive this $300,000 funding in Budget 17. The next expressions of interest for Building Better Schools grants will be called for in October this year, in preparation for Budget 18.
