Applications are open for this year’s NGS Super Scholarship Awards giving education workers the chance to win one of six $5,000 scholarships.
The NGS Super Scholarship Awards are designed to identify and fund ideas that create a positive impact and respond to challenges within education.
2021 Judges’ Choice winner, Jennifer Greenland’s passion for sustainable energy and environmental awareness led her to design and construct solar and wind charging stations for electronic devices around her school’s campus.
Jennifer used the $5,000 grant to increase awareness of renewable energy technologies and its potential application within the education sector.
“My project strived to enhance the environmental conscience of my students and promote engagement in STEM education. It encouraged students to apply sustainability knowledge in solving real-world issues. I’m excited about its benefits and hope it can be widely adopted by schools in the future,” Greenland said.
The Scholarship Awards encourage teachers, management, and support staff to submit ideas in three categories - Navigating life, Sustainability, and a General category.
Since their inception, over $360,000 has been awarded to 55 recipients who have used the funds to further their professional development and contribute to their school community and wider education sector.
