RSL Queensland has launched a free online program which teachers can use to help students build resilience, empathy and improve their physical and mental health. It is available for any school to incorporate into its curriculum, at RSL Education.

RSL Queensland State President Tony Ferris said the module, which is aligned with the Queensland Health and PE curriculum, draws on RSL Queensland’s extensive experience in the areas of mental and physical health.

“We know mental health and wellbeing is an issue not just in the Defence family but across the broader community”, Ferris said.

“This online module gives teachers a range of resources to help our kids build resilience, look after their mental and physical health, understand how they can show empathy and compassion for the people around them, and learn how important rehabilitation is to recover from injury.”

Mr Ferris said the HPE module was designed to be interactive, with activities and content to suit students from Prep to year 12.

“It includes videos, activities and extensive learning guides and teacher notes, and we hope that students and teachers will find it a useful tool in the classroom.”
